With more than 30 years of experience in transportation and logistics, Bryan F. Vaughan was recently appointed as the Vice President of Sales, Marketing and Business Development at MRC. He will lead the sales, marketing and customer service team within the United States.
Vaughan comes to MRC with 15 years of experience with Class 1 railroads.
“We are extremely excited to have Bryan join the leadership team here at MRC,” MRC President Kevin Cook said. “Bryan brings us a wealth of experience from his time working with the Class I railroads and two other railcar leasing companies. Bryan has a real passion for our industry and the leasing business, which will make him a great addition to the team as we continue to grow our business at MRC.”
Vaughan has experience with EDI implementation, rail cost analysis and product line management, as well as sales for large bulk commodities accounts. Prior to joining MRC, Vaughan served as Commercial Leader of Sales and Marketing for Railcar Leasing at VTG Rail for the past six years. He also served as International Director of Sales and Marketing while at Canadian National Railway for six years and Vice President of Sales and Marketing while at GE Capital Rail Services (GERS) for a decade.
“I got my start working for some rail industry icons such Rob Krebs at Santa Fe Railway and Hunter Harrison at CN/IC,” Vaughan said. “I had the opportunity to learn about key drivers within the railroad and commodity shippers industry, as well as gain an immersive understanding of rail operations. I’m thrilled for the opportunity to work with the great team at MRC. We have a great dynamic industry driven by an awesome group of industry professionals.”
Along with his professional experience, Vaughan sits on the executive board of the Midwest Association of Rail Shippers (MARS) and was a recent president of the Traffic Club of Chicago. He earned an MBA from the University of Chicago and a Bachelor of Science from Illinois State University.
Vaughan lives in the Chicago metro area with his wife, Susan, and two children. He loves sports, reading and traveling with his family, exploring beaches around Lake Michigan in Northwest Indiana and Western Michigan.
