Modern Rail Capital Rebrands to Emphasize Forward-Thinking Approach

As a result of an ownership change in April and to better align with an evolving vision and future aspirations, Modern Rail Capital (MRC) has recently rebranded with a new company name. Along with the name change, the Chicago-based railcar lessor has a new logo, color scheme and website – all reflective of how MRC is positioning itself for the future.

“With this name change, we aim to embrace a fresh identity that reflects our growth, adaptability and forward-thinking approach,” MRC President Kevin Cook said. “MRC embodies the essence of our company’s values and our relentless pursuit of excellence with focus on our customers – and that comes from a modern approach to railcar leasing.”

MRC, which was formally known as Mitsui Rail Capital, was consolidated under one parental entity earlier this year when JA Mitsui Leasing Capital Corporation (JMCC) acquired full ownership from Mitsui & Co., Ltd. The deal became official on March 31.

“We are immensely grateful for our customers’ loyalty,” said Bryan F. Vaughan, MRC Vice President of Sales and Marketing and Business Development. “Understanding our customers markets and responsiveness to their needs are core to our business. This new chapter, streamlined under one parental entity, will support our core competencies as well as our corporate goal of helping to keep commerce moving.”

The rebrand highlights the company’s mission of helping customers succeed by providing responsive service, flexible leasing options and well-maintained railcars – all while acting with integrity, responsiveness, accuracy and friendliness.

MRC has a diverse portfolio of rail freight cars deployed across a wide range of industrial sectors including energy, food, manufacturing and construction. In addition, MRC has built a strong reputation for its customer service, which has been the foundation of the business since its establishment in 1996.
